From the Swiss Alps to the City: Musical Stroll through the “Giardini” with UNESCO Yodelling
Giardino

Join us for a musical walk from the Indro Montanelli Gardens to the “Giardino” of the House of Switzerland, guided by the resonant calls of yodelling. Along the way, discover this unique vocal technique, characterised by the rapid alternation between chest voice and falsetto -and, if you wish, try it yourself.
What may sound like playful or abstract syllables (such as jo, lo, di) once served a vital purpose: communicating across long distances, signalling presence between shepherds and valley communities, and accompanying daily life in the Alps. Today, these sounds continue to keep Alpine traditions alive, connecting past and present.
Celebrate with us a living cultural heritage - one that, in December 2025, was officially recognised as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage - and experience the Alps through their most human and resonant expression: the voice.
